Project goals:
Increasing the design speed up to 160 km/h, upgrading by subsystems and achieving interoperability.
Scope of the project:
- Technical design for modernization of the railway section Elin Pelin – Ihtiman;
- Coordination and approval of the technical design for modernization by the competent authorities in accordance with the requirements of the Bulgarian legislation;
- Registration of technical passports of the existing buildings, railway stations and structures within the scope of the project;
- Detailed spatial plans;
- Preparation of documents for the start of land acquisition procedures and changing the purpose of the land usage;
- Preparation of technical specifications;
In the position of a leading partner in consortium „ELIH“, Transgeo Ltd. performed overall management, contract administration and design.
Highlights:
- Optimization of the existing railway line for 160 km/h;
- A few of the designed structures are railway bridges in Pobit kamak area with a total length of 648m and two tunnels with lengths 970m and 6680m. Two bridges with non - ballast superstructures are designed between the tunnels over the Gabra river;
- Traction supply in tunnels 1 and 2 is designed with a contact rail;
- There was submitted a project for reconstruction of the building of the railway station Elin Pelin and the adjoining infrastructure - parking lot and pedestrian overpass.
